Tom Cruise awarded US navy honor for portraying military officers

Hollywood action star Tom Cruise has been awarded a prestigious civilian military honor by the U.S. Navy for his portrayal of an excellent naval officer in films.

While awards and honors are not new to the stars of the film industry, some awards hold significant value for them. In the case of Tom Cruise, his acting, expressions, and style have made him a global icon, admired not only by the general public but also by military personnel, with fans in both the U.S. and British armed forces.

For highlighting the role of the U.S. Navy, particularly through his films, Tom Cruise was recently honored by the U.S. Navy with the Distinguished Public Service Award.

According to media, the award ceremony took place in London, where Cruise was presented with the honor. U.S. Secretary of the Navy, Carlos Del Toro, praised Cruise’s exceptional work, stating that his unparalleled performances would continue to inspire future generations of Navy recruits.

During his speech, Tom Cruise expressed his joy in being able to influence and inspire naval officers, attributing the success to not just his own effort, but also to the hard work of his co-stars and the team who helped bring these projects to life.

He also paid tribute to all service members, saying, “I know this job is not easy, but I salute all service men and women.”

According to U.S. media, after the release of Cruise’s movie Top Gunthere was a record increase in the number of young people joining the U.S. Navy.

It’s worth noting that Tom Cruise entered the world of acting in the late 1980s, and gained widespread recognition with his roles in Risky Business (1983) and Top Gun (1986).
