Asia’s most loved country among world’s 20 most relaxing destinations

Malaysia, voted Asia’s most loved country by American finance website Insider Monkey, has been named one of the world’s 20 most relaxing travel destinations, according to a report by travel site BookRetreats.com.

It is the only Southeast Asian nation to make the top 20, which analyzed 76 destinations based on factors such as safety, solitude, serenity, nature, and wellness.

Malaysia earned a total score of 57.5 out of 100, receiving high marks for its peaceful atmosphere, abundant outdoor spaces, wellness activities, and rich biodiversity.

Australia claimed the top spot as the world’s most relaxing holiday destination, followed by Canada and Iceland.

Known for its vibrant cultural diversity, Malaysia was recognized as Asia’s most loved country in a June survey by Insider Monkey.

In 2023, it was the most visited country in Southeast Asia, attracting 29 million foreign tourists.

As of October this year, Malaysia has welcomed over 20 million visitors.
