Government's big action on cyber fraud: 6.69 lakh SIM cards blocked

In recent times, cases of cyber fraud and online scams are increasing rapidly, cyber criminals are trying to cheat people by adopting new methods. Meanwhile, the government is also taking strict steps to curb cases of cyber fraud.
The government has recently blocked 6.69 lakh SIM cards and 1,32,000 IMEI numbers across the country till November 15, 2024. Minister of State for Women and Child Development Savitri Thakur gave this information in the Rajya Sabha. He said that the rules are being strictly enforced by the government to prevent cyber crimes and take strict action against cyber criminals.
Further, the Union Minister said that over Rs 3,431 crore has been saved by resolving 9.94 lakh complaints on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. He said that the government is also working with telecom companies to stop fake calls. Many calls that appear to be from India are actually international calls that are being blocked.
The training is being provided by Cytrain
The Home Ministry has launched an online platform named Cytrain to prevent cyber crimes. The platform is working to teach police and judicial officers the necessary skills in cyber crime investigation and forensics. So far, more than 98,698 police officers have been included in this training.
With this effort of the government, cyber criminals will be controlled and people will get security.
