After being out of Vijay Hazare Trophy, Prithvi Shaw accused of bias, Mumbai Cricket Association gave a befitting reply
Sports Desk: Mumbai's team for Vijay Hazare Trophy has been announced. The captaincy of this team has been handed over to Shreyas Iyer. Under the captaincy, Iyer led Mumbai to victory in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Whereas Prithvi Shaw has been dropped from this team. Prithvi Shaw had blamed Mumbai Cricket for being dropped. But the union rejected this allegation outright and gave a reply which Shaw might not like.
Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) said about Shaw that he has been continuously breaking discipline and is his own enemy. Speaking to a media agency, a senior MCA official said that due to poor fitness, attitude and discipline issues, the team was sometimes forced to hide him on the field. Shaw had expressed his anger through a social media post at not getting a place in the 16-member Vijay Hazare Trophy team. He was part of the Mumbai team that won the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

The official said, “In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, we were playing with ten fielders because Shaw had to be hidden. The ball would pass him by and he would not be able to catch it. Even while batting, he was having difficulty reaching the ball. His fitness, discipline and attitude are bad and there cannot be different rules for different players. Senior players in the team also started complaining about his attitude.
During the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Shaw regularly missed practice sessions and would reach the team hotel at six in the morning after staying out all night. The official said that Shaw, who is in the news for his off-field antics, is not doing justice to his talent and such social media posts are not going to do him any good. Earlier in October, Shaw was also dropped from Mumbai's Ranji Trophy team for the same reasons.
