In Friday's trading, 25 out of 30 Sensex shares have fallen, out of which only 5 shares are rising. Out of 50 shares of Nifty, 37 are showing decline and only 13 are showing rise. NSE's sectoral index Nifty Auto is up by 0.63 percent, Media is up by 0.91 percent and Oil & Gas is up by 0.78 percent. At the same time, there is a sharp decline in the shares of the bank sector.

In the Asian market, Japan's Nikkei is down 0.14 percent and Korea's Kospi is down 1.67 percent. At the same time, China's Shanghai Composite Index is trading up by 0.12 percent.

According to NSE data, on December 19, net sales by foreign investors (FIIs) stood at Rs 4 thousand 224.92 crore. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 3 thousand 943.24 crore.

On December 19, America's Dow Jones closed at 42 thousand 342 after a gain of 0.036 percent. The S&P 500 index closed at 5 thousand 867 with a fall of 0.087 percent and the Nasdaq closed at 19 thousand 372 with a fall of 0.10 percent.

The effect of the cut in US federal interest rates and the decline in the world markets was also seen on the Indian stock market yesterday i.e. Thursday (19 December). Sensex closed at 79 thousand 218 with a fall of 964 points. Nifty also closed at 23 thousand 951 with a fall of 247 points.

The biggest decline was seen in bank, metal and IT shares. Nifty Bank, Metal and IT indices were all down more than 1 percent. However, the pharma and healthcare index rose by more than 1.5 percent.

Due to selling in the market, the wealth of investors decreased by Rs 2.61 lakh crore. On December 19, the market cap of companies listed on BSE was Rs 449 lakh crore. On December 18, it was around Rs 452 lakh crore.
