Delhi: Babar Azam, who was struggling with poor form, has returned to his form by playing a brilliant inning of 73 runs in the second ODI against South Africa. With this inning, Babar Azam has completed his 5905 runs in ODIs. Now if he scores 95 more runs in the third ODI, then the veteran batsman will make a big record in his name.

With his inning of 95 runs in the third match, Babar will become the fastest batsman to complete 6000 runs in ODI cricket. Currently this record is in the name of Hashim Amla of South Africa, who achieved this feat in 123 innings. Babar has so far scored 5905 runs in 119 innings with 19 centuries and 33 half-centuries.
Not only this, if Babar makes this record, he will leave behind legendary players like Virat Kohli and David Warner. Virat had completed 6000 runs in 136 innings, while Warner had achieved this feat in 139 innings. Kane Williamson also reached this figure in 139 innings only. At the same time, Shikhar Dhawan had completed 6000 runs in 140 innings.

Babar also aims to equal the record of Saeed Anwar who scored most ODI centuries for Pakistan. Anwar had scored 20 centuries, while Babar has scored 19 centuries so far. Moreover, if Babar scores another century in the next 15 innings, he will become the second fastest batsman to score 20 ODI centuries. The record for scoring the fastest 20 centuries is in the name of Hashim Amla (108 innings), whereas Virat Kohli achieved this feat in 133 innings. Babar has played only 118 innings so far.
