Ashwin made the sudden announcement of his retirement from international cricket right after the conclusion of the third Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test that ended in a draw at Gabba on Wednesday. The announcement came during the post-match press conference, and with it, ended a 14-year-long career in which he had played all forms of the game for India. He is now coming back home to Chennai, with two Tests still remaining in the ongoing series against Australia.
