Gautam Adani Group's big investment in Bihar, power plant and other projects worth Rs 20,000 crore
Gautam Adani Group has announced an investment of Rs 20,000 crore in Bihar. Under this investment, a state-of-the-art thermal power plant will be established in the state. Additionally, Adani Group will also expand its cement, food processing, and logistics business. Information about this announcement was given by Pranab Adani, Director of Adani Enterprises Limited. He was speaking at Bihar Business Connect 2024.

Pranab Adani informed that Adani Group has already invested Rs 850 crore in logistics, gas distribution, and agro logistics sectors in Bihar.
- The group plans to invest an additional Rs 2,300 crore in these sectors.
- This investment will expand its presence in electric vehicles, city gas distribution (CGD), and compressed biogas (CBG) along with enhancing warehousing and maintenance capacity.
- These projects will generate 27,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities in the state.
Planning of new investment areas
1. Infrastructure Development:
Adani Group plans to invest Rs 1,000 crore in strategic infrastructure projects such as Gati Shakti Railway Terminal, ICD (Inland Container Depot), and industrial warehousing parks in Bihar.
2. Smart Meter Manufacturing:
- Seeing the shift from traditional electricity meters to smart meters in Bihar, the group will manufacture and install 28 lakh smart meters in Siwan, Gopalganj, Vaishali, Saran, and Samastipur.
- There will be an investment of Rs 2,100 crore in this project, which will create 4,000 local jobs.
3. Expansion of cement business:
- An investment of Rs 2,500 crore will be made in cement factories in the state.
- This investment will increase the capacity of the factories by 10 million tonnes per year.
Big project of thermal power plant
Adani Group is planning to set up an ultra-supercritical thermal power plant in Bihar, which will entail an investment of around Rs 20,000 crore.
- 12,000 jobs will be created in the implementation phase of this project.
- The operational phase will create approximately 1,500 skilled employment opportunities.
