Sports Minister inaugurates '37th Sub-Junior National Softball Championship'

JAMMU�जम्मू: Youth Services and Sports Minister Satish Sharma on Friday inaugurated the 37th Sub Junior National Softball Championship at MA Stadium, Jammu. 38 teams from 24 states are participating in this championship, in which more than 1,000 players and technical officials are participating. The event is being organized by J&K Softball Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council under the aegis of Softball Association of India. The lively inauguration ceremony featured captivating renditions of Dogri music, various sports performances and a grand march past by the participating teams.

Speaking at the event, the Minister expressed pride in hosting such a national level championship in Jammu and Kashmir. He congratulated the athletes and officials and emphasized the government's commitment towards making Jammu and Kashmir a center of sports excellence. “We are determined to provide world-class infrastructure, coaching facilities and platforms to young athletes to showcase their talent,” he said. The Minister highlighted the growing status of Jammu and Kashmir as the host of several national competitions this year and assured the best facilities to the participants.

He said, “The youth of Jammu and Kashmir are full of talent and their achievements in national competitions are a testament to their potential. Our goal is to provide them with more opportunities to excel.” The championship will continue till 24th December, which will witness intense competition and camaraderie among young athletes from across the country. Director General Youth Services and Sports Rajinder Singh Tara, Secretary J&K Sports Council Nuzhat Gul, J&K Sports Council Member Rajeev Sharma and many dignitaries and guests from the participating states were present at the inaugural ceremony.
