Vivek Oberoi opens up about his experience with Rani Mukerji

Vivek Oberoi, the Bollywood actor who previously stirred controversy with his press conference full of allegations against Salman Khan has now shared an unpleasant experience with actress Rani Mukerji while working together.

Vivek Oberoi who shot to fame overnight with the film Saathiya directed by the renowned filmmaker Shaad Ali revealed that he initially rejected the film’s offer.

He mentioned that during the shooting of the film, he had to endure a 23-hour non-stop shooting schedule and he had to use the restrooms of local hotels to change clothes.

Vivek was offered Saathiya while he was busy shooting for Ram Gopal Varma’s Company.

In a recent media interview, Vivek shared how Shaad Ali who was like a childhood friend to him, called him one day to show him a Tamil film named Alaipayuthey.

Vivek recalled, “He told me he wanted to make a Hindi remake of the film and wanted me to play the role of Madhav. At that time, I was busy with the shooting of Company, so I initially declined. But after watching the Tamil version, I cried by the end and agreed to be a part of the Hindi version.”

Reflecting on the memories from the shooting, Vivek said, “Saathiya was a small-budget film, and only Rani Mukerji had a makeup van. I had to change my clothes in the restrooms of local restaurants and hotels.”

He continued, “During the shooting, I even got my makeup done standing in the middle of the street. No one knew who I was. I would walk with a tripod on my shoulder along with the rest of the crew. I shot for 22 to 23 hours non-stop for Saathiya, and I would take a nap on a bench with a newspaper under my head to look fresh on screen.”

Vivek further stated, “At that time, when I joined the film industry, everything was about passion and dedication, and not much was discussed about box office numbers. Even now, I don’t know how much Saathiya made at the box office. The ‘1000 Crore Club’ culture has only come now.”
