Shafted OTT Release: The comedy web series directed in French features well-known industry names such as Manu Payet, Guillaume Labbé, Vincent Heneine, and Antoine Gouy. The series “Shafted’ is set to premiere on 24th January 2025 on Netflix.
The series follows the lives of 4 men who are struggling to find stability in their lives. The men Cedric, Tom, Jerem, and Tonito become friends through their problems.
Plot
The trailer for the series starts with a circle of men sitting around in a room with a man in the center. The man in the center states that they are here for one sole purpose. To overcome their toxic masculinity which has turned into a hazardous problem in their daily lives.
The circle starts with the first man named Tom, who states that he is an ‘alpha male’. He expresses himself as being in the middle of a creative process and on the way to discovering and making something. However, his life has been difficult ever since he split up with his partner Andrea.
Each day the man makes the men exercise and make vows in statements to be a better man. The next day the circle of men starts with Jerem who also calls himself an alpha male. Jerem is going through his problems where he has been unable to indulge in intimate acts with his partner, causing her stress and uncertainty.
The next man is Cedric who states that apparently, he’s also an ‘alpha’. His life topples over when he is called into his job and thrown out for the sake of ‘change’. He lies to his partner that it wasn’t him that was fired but he made the choice to quit. The next man is Tonito, who’s decided to marry his partner Delphine.
However, to his dismay, she surprises him by saying she wants to have an open relationship that would be purely for sexual pleasure. The four-man find each other’s problems alike. Therefore, they become friends.
