Biggest news now about 3% increase in dearness allowance of state employees! From when will 53% DA be applicable?

7th Pay Commission: The biggest update of the time has come out regarding making dearness allowance of government employees in Maharashtra state government service working under 7th Pay Commission to 53% like central employees. Just a few months ago, the Modi government at the center decided to increase the dearness allowance of central employees to 53%.

Earlier this dearness allowance was 50%. But in October 2024, dearness allowance has increased to 53% and this increase has been implemented from July 2024. Of course, along with the salaries of the month of October, the dearness allowance difference amount was also given to the central employees.

Meanwhile, dearness allowance of state government employees is also expected to be increased to 53% on the lines of central employees. However, due to the code of conduct of the mid-term assembly elections and the confusion for the formation of the government, the decision has not been taken yet.

But the Maharashtra State Teachers Council has sent a memorandum to the government to ensure that the state employees get the benefit of dearness allowance increase at the earliest. This statement has been given to Hon’ble Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde, Education Secretary Kundan Madam and Education Commissioner Suraj Pandey.

In this statement, it has been requested to increase the dearness allowance of state employees by 3% on the lines of central employees from July 1, 2024 and to take a decision on this immediately. It has also been said in this statement that the state employees should get this benefit in their salary for the month of December.

In this statement, it has been strongly demanded that the benefit of dearness allowance increase and dearness allowance difference be distributed to the state employees in the salary of the month of December i.e. the salary which will be received in the hands of the employees in the month of January and therefore it is said that the government will take a positive decision in this regard soon.

According to media reports, the decision to increase dearness allowance of state employees to 53% may be taken immediately after the winter session is over. Although the decision will be taken in the month of December, the increase will be applicable from July 2024.
