How much will Delhiites benefit?

According to the information received, the AAP government has made 200 units of electricity free in Delhi. By the way, the rate of electricity for this unit in Delhi is Rs 4.16 per unit. If so many units were not waived off, the bill would have been Rs 916 every month. At the same time, the electricity rate for 200-400 units is Rs 6.24 per unit i.e. additional electricity bill of Rs 1284. Overall the electricity bill for up to 400 units would have been Rs 2080. But right now the people of Delhi have to pay only Rs 624. This means that people are saving Rs 1540. If calculated for the whole year, this savings comes to Rs 18,480.

Saving by providing facilities, not by snatching them away

The effort of the AAP government has been to make people save by providing them facilities, and not by taking away facilities from them or reducing their facilities. The government's initiative regarding electricity in Delhi is the biggest proof of this. Up to 200 units of electricity is free in Delhi. Beyond that, i.e. 200 to 400 units of electricity are available at half the rates.

People are getting 24 hours electricity

According to a survey, 57 percent of the families in the country have to face power cuts of up to two hours every day. There are 37% families who face power cuts of two to four hours. This means that only 6 percent of the population gets electricity for 20 hours. The population of Delhi is barely 2 percent of the country's population. About one-third of the population in the country that gets 24-hour electricity are Delhiites.
