material to make

  • Paneer- 250 grams (cut into cubes)
  • Green peas – 2 cups (boiled)
  • Onion- 2 (finely chopped)
  • Garlic cloves- 3-4 (finely chopped)
  • Ginger- 1 inch (grated)
  • Tomato – 2 large (finely chopped)
  • Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder- 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala- 1/2 tsp
  • Asafoetida- 1/4 tsp
  • Curd- 1/2 cup
  • Oil- 2 tbsp
  • salt as per taste
  • Green coriander leaves (for garnish)

method of making

  • To make paneer, heat oil in a pan. Then add asafoetida and crackle it.
  • After this, when the asafoetida crackles, add onion, garlic and ginger to it and fry till it turns golden.
  • Then add tomatoes to it and cook. However, cook it until the tomatoes become soft.
  • After this add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder and garam masala and mix it well.
  • Now add curd. Then cook all these things well. After this add some water and let it boil.
  • Then add cheese and peas, mix and cook it on low flame for 5-7 minutes.
  • Cook it until your vegetable becomes thick.
  • After cooking, turn off the gas and sprinkle green coriander leaves on top of the vegetable and garnish it well.
  • Now your hot Matar Paneer is ready. Enjoy with puri or pulao.

special tips

If you like to eat spicy food, then you can increase or decrease the chillies in Matar Paneer as per your convenience.
Apart from this, if you do not like raw cheese, you can also fry it and mix it.
