No reservation scheme for Muslims in employment: Siddaramaiah
Latest News :- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has clarified that there is no plan to provide reservation to Muslims in employment opportunities. There were reports in the media that Muslims would be given 4 percent reservation in government jobs and contracts in Karnataka. Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized the move during the Jharkhand Assembly election campaign.
Speaking at that time, he had said that Congress was planning to give religious reservation against the Constitution. It has issued a statement that it will give 10 percent reservation to Muslims in Karnataka and Maharashtra. As long as BJP is there, no reservation can be given” to minorities.
In this regard, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said in a statement yesterday that there have been reports that Muslims will be given reservation in jobs in Karnataka. This is completely false. Although requests were made in that regard, no action was taken regarding provision of reservation. If the truth is like this then it is not appropriate for some people to promote religious politics for their political purposes.
