Cricket match between India and Australia gets cancelled amidst Ravindra Jadeja’s Hindi-only press conference
The Hindi-only press conference of Ravindra Jadeja is reported to have witnessed a T20 match between media person of both the countries being called off.
The result of Ravindra Jadeja’s press conference is reported to witness a planned T20 match between the media person of the two countries being cancelled. Before the fourth Test between India and Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja spoke to a couple reports about different topics.
However, a portion of Australian media suggested that Jadeja refused to answer questions in English, along with leaving the media arrangement before Australian reporters can get a chance to ask their questions. However, the team’s media manager have denied this incident.
Because of a controversy that surfaced in Melbourne on Saturday, December 21, a match between the reporters of both the countries got boycotted, and ultimately resulted in the match getting called off.
A section of India’s team and the travelling media decided to boycott the press match against local media persons, set to be held on Sunday afternoon. The game was scheduled to be held at the Junction Oval, but had to be called off.
As controversy around Jadeja’s Hindi-specific press conference intensified, some Indian reporters claimed that the media event got called off only because of travelling purposes. Since Jadeja was asked questions in Hindi, he decided to answer in Hindi as well. However, he did not refuse to speak in English as he got suggested by Australian media.
India will now face Australia for a Boxing-Day test at the MCG, set to begin December 26.
