Pakistan's Shahbaz government back on foot, committee formed for talks with former PM Imran Khan's party

Islamabad: Pakistan's Shahbaz Sharif government is on the back foot. The Pakistan government on Sunday formed a committee to begin formal talks with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party led by jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

This announcement has been made at such a time. When PTI has threatened civil disobedience movement. According to the government statement, the committee includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Prime Minister's political aide Rana Sanaullah, Education Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Privatization Minister Aleem Khan, Religious Affairs Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain and MP Irfan Siddiqui.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf welcomed the formation of a government committee for talks and called it a positive step. PTI Chairman Gauhar Ali Khan said that we consider the formation of the committee as a constructive step. There should be meaningful conversations based on positive intentions. He stressed that there should be a definite timeline for possible talks. Gauhar Ali also said that considering the sensitivity of the situation, the talks should proceed positively.

Imran Khan's wife gets interim bail

Let us tell you that the wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan got interim bail from a Pakistani court on Saturday. Bushra Bibi, jailed in 32 cases related to the November 26 protests, was on Saturday granted interim bail for three weeks. In these cases, protests were held last month against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party founder Imran Khan, his wife and senior party leaders. During this period, a case of murder registered in the death of paramilitary forces soldiers is also included.
