“Not batting”: Cheteshwar Pujara highlights India’s biggest concern for the Boxing Day Test

Cheteshwar Pujara is concerned about Team India’s bowling for the Boxing Day Test match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. India and Australia will compete in the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, with the previous contest ending as a draw.

Pujara has questioned the depth of the visitors’ bowling unit. Jasprit Bumrah has been the only consistent bowler, with 21 wickets in three Tests.

Pujara mentioned that the batting has improved a bit due to the middle and lower order, but the bowling performance has gone down.

“Team India’s bowling is looking weak and I am concerned about this area. The top five batters haven’t been among the runs but the middle and lower order have shown improvement,” Cheteshwar Pujara said on Star Sports.

“Ravindra Jadeja, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep scored runs. There is a weakness in the bowling unit and I don’t know what team India will play at the MCG,” he added.

India have changed the bowling line-up across three Tests. Washington Sundar, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin have been a part of the playing XI in different games. In the third Test, Harshit Rana was replaced by Akash Deep. It is expected that Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir will not change the playing unit in the MCG Test.
