Moong dal – 1 cup
Spinach- 500 grams
Onion- 2 (finely chopped)
Tomato- 2 (finely chopped)
Green chilli- 2 (finely chopped)
Ginger- 1 inch (grated)
Garlic cloves- 4-5 (grated)
Asafoetida- 1 tsp
Cumin- 1 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder- 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
Salt as per taste
Oil- 1/4 cup
Green coriander leaves (for garnish)

method of making

To make dal palak, first wash the dal thoroughly with 2-3 water.
Then add water as per requirement and cook in pressure cooker for 2-3 whistles.
On the other hand, wash the spinach thoroughly and chop it finely or grind it in a blender with some water.
After this, heat oil in a pan on gas and add cumin seeds in it. Also add asafoetida and fry for a while.
When it crackles, add onion, green chilli, ginger and garlic and fry until it turns golden.
After this, add chopped tomatoes and cook until the tomatoes become soft.
Then add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder and salt and mix well.
After this, mix boiled lentils in this mixture and mix it well.
Now cook it on low flame for 5-7 minutes and then turn off the gas.
After this, garnish with fresh coriander leaves over the prepared dal.
Now your hot dal palak is ready.
Enjoy it with rice or roti.
