Team India will play Champions Trophy 2025 in UAE, there will be a clash with Pakistan on this day
Champions Trophy 2025 Team India Venue: Indian team The Champions Trophy 2025 will play its matches in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has chosen UAE as a neutral venue after meeting Sheikh Nahyan Al Mubarak in Pakistan. Sheikh Nahyan is a senior minister of the UAE and also the head of the Emirates Cricket Board.
“The PCB has selected the United Arab Emirates as a neutral venue for the Champions Trophy,” PCB spokesperson Aamir Mir said.
According to the news of ESPN Cricinfo, the India-Pakistan league match will be held on 23 February. Apart from Pakistan, the other two teams of India's group are Bangladesh and New Zealand. India will play against Bangladesh on 20 February and against New Zealand on 2 March. All the matches are expected to be played in Dubai.
Reigning champions Pakistan will open the tournament against New Zealand on February 19 in Karachi. Pakistan's last league match will be played against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi on 27 February.
The second group has teams from Afghanistan, Australia, England and South Africa. Apart from India, all the matches of other teams of both the groups will be played in Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi of Pakistan.
The semi-final matches will be held on March 4 and 5, there is no reserve day for the first semi-final and a reserve day has been kept for the second semi-final. The final will be held on March 9 and a reserve day has been kept for that also. If the Indian team reaches the knockout, then its matches will be held in UAE only. If the Indian team is not able to qualify, the matches will be played in Pakistan. The final is to be held in Lahore, but if the Indian team reaches the final then the match will be held in UAE.
The hybrid model was finalized when the parties involved agreed that in return, Pakistan's matches in ICC tournaments hosted by India till 2027 would also be played at neutral venues. In all cases, knockout matches such as semi-finals and finals will also be held at neutral venues.
