Bangladesh Awami League: 167 leaders and workers of Awami League in Bangladesh surrendered, 42 got bail

Bangladesh Awami League : Leaders and workers of Bangladesh's former ruling party Awami League have surrendered in a Jessore court in four cases related to arms and explosives. A total of 167 Awami League leaders and workers surrendered in a Jessore court on Sunday in connection with four cases related to arms and explosives, media reports said. Of these, 42 persons were granted bail by the judge, while the rest were sent to jail.

The surrender took place on Sunday in the courts of Judicial Magistrates Palash Kumar and Golam Kibria.

According to reports, Jessore Court Inspector Rukhsana Khatoon said: “105 persons surrendered before the court of Judicial Magistrate Palash Kumar in connection with two cases under Abhaynagar police station. Apart from this, 42 persons involved in a case under Keshavpur police station also surrendered.

“After the hearing, the judge granted bail to 42 persons in the Keshavpur case, while 105 persons in the Abhaynagar case were ordered to be sent to jail,” he said.
