New Delhi: The erstwhile Indian cricket sensation, Vinod Kambli, is currently in the hospital due to a dip in his health. His condition is under strict surveillance by healthcare authorities who are carrying out a range of tests. Kambli, now 52, has been in the limelight lately after his much-emoted reunion with his dear childhood buddy and legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar at Ramakant Achrekar’s remembrance event. His appearance in a wheelchair at the occasion caused quite a stir of worry among his fans for his health.

He was rushed to the hospital late on Saturday and now, thankfully, he is stable. Despite the improvement, his condition continues to be critical, with expert physicians keeping a close watch. His health has stirred worry among cricket enthusiasts and retired players from India alike. But now, prominent figures from the 1983 World Cup team have risen to the occasion, providing monetary help. Kambli has publicly expressed his gratitude for their support.

“I’m ready to go for rehab. I want to go there because I don’t fear anything. My family is with me,” he said during an interaction with Vickey Lalwani on Youtube. At the same time, Kambli also acknowledged the help he got from Ajay Jadeja and Abey Kuruvilla. “Jadeja is a very good friend of mine. He came to meet me and said ‘Come on, get up’. A lot of people have called me lately. Everyone saw me.

“Definitely, they (BCCI) will help. Abey Kuruvilla (former India pacer) is with BCCI, he is in touch with me, and he is also in touch with my wife,” Kambli added further. Vinod Kambli represented India in 17 Tests and 104 ODIs and scored over 3000 runs with six centuries at the highest level.
