Lexus unveils LF-ZC concept, will be seen in India in 2025

Obnews Automobile Desk: Lexus plans to showcase the concept of its future electric car LF-ZC at the 2025 India Mobility Expo. It was first shown at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show. Lexus has announced that the concept embodies the “Lexus Future Zero-emission Catalyst” and its production will begin by 2026. The company claims that the LF-ZC will provide twice the range as the existing EV range.

Attractive design and aerodynamic features

The design of LF-ZC is very sharp and futuristic.

  • Front Profile: It has a closed grille and sharp clusters for the headlamps.
  • Side Profile: Air vents and streamlined lines have been added for better aerodynamic efficiency.
  • Roofline: With a coupe-style roofline and sharp C-pillar, its drag coefficient is just 0.2.

It uses Lexus' “Steer-By-Wire” technology and “Direct4 all-wheel drive”, as per Lexus
Seen in the RZ model.

Futuristic interior and advanced technology

The cabin of the LF-ZC is equipped with modern technology:

  • Display and Controls: Two displays are provided on either side of the steering wheel.
  • Left Display: For gear selection, ADAS functions and drive modes.
  • Right Display: For music, climate control and phone functions.
  • A separate screen for the co-driver that supports infotainment and other applications.

AI-Enabled Voice Assistant: The LF-ZC gets a new “Butler” assistant, based on driving data and in-car information.
Automatically adjusts individual settings.

Double range from new battery technology

Lexus revealed that the LF-ZC will use next-generation prismatic high-performance batteries. These batteries:

  • Will be light and will come with a low-profile design.
  • Will provide high energy density.
  • Will ensure better aerodynamics and range.
