Tony Khan Shares Major News Ahead of AEW Worlds End
AEW President Tony Khan has revealed a major update ahead of the final pay-per-view of 2024, Worlds End. The show will take place on December 28, 2024, at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.
The show will feature an exciting match card for fans. AEW World Champion Jon Moxley will defend his title against Orange Cassidy, Hangman Page, and Jay White. Moxley and his faction, the Death Riders, have been wreaking havoc on the roster for months. Amidst this chaos, Page and Cassidy have stepped up to challenge them and aim for Moxley’s title.
The event will also host the final of the 2024 Continental Classic tournament, where Kazuchika Okada or Ricochet will face either Kyle Fletcher or Will Ospreay. Adam Cole will challenge MJF for the Dynamite Diamond Ring, and Konosuke Takeshita will defend the AEW International Championship against Powerhouse Hobbs.
In the women’s division, Mariah May will put her AEW Women’s World Championship on the line against Thunder Rosa in a Tijuana Street Fight. Mercedes Mone will face Kris Statlander for the AEW TBS Championship. Additionally, President Tony Khan has shared a huge update about AEW’s weekly show, Rampage.
Tony Khan finally reveals what’s next for AEW Rampage
AEW Rampage debuted in August of 2021, and featured several special episodes, including Rampage: The First Dance, which saw CM Punk’s debut in the promotion. This episode became the highest-rated in the show’s history, attracting over 1.1 million viewers.
However, when AEW Collision debuted in June 2023, Rampage became a secondary show. Its ratings started to drop, and major storylines shifted to Dynamite and Collision. After AEW signed a deal with Warner Bros. Discovery, reports spread that Rampage might be canceled.
With the promotion planning to move to HBO Max in 2025, President Tony Khan confirmed that the upcoming taping of Rampage will be its last. This weekend, the promotion taped Dynamite and Rampage in New York, where fans confirmed that Khan announced Rampage’s final episode.
