Delhi: The fourth test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy between the Indian cricket team and Australia will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) from 26 December. It is also called Boxing Day Test. Both the teams would like to win this match and take lead in the series, due to which the enthusiasm of the fans has increased further.

India's performance in Melbourne

The Indian team has not lost any test match in Melbourne for the last 13 years. The last time Australia defeated India here by 122 runs was in December 2011. After that, three matches were played between the two teams on this ground, out of which India won two matches and one was a draw.

The Indian team has played a total of 14 test matches so far in Melbourne. Out of these, India has won 4 matches, lost 8 and 2 matches have been drawn. Looking at the recent performance, the confidence of the Indian team is high and they would like to maintain this momentum.

Current status of the series

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy is currently tied at 1-1.. In the first test, the Indian team had won by 295 runs in Perth. The second Test was played in Adelaide, where Australia won by 10 wickets. The third Test was played in Gabba, which ended in a draw.

Now both the teams are ready to take the lead in the series by winning the fourth Test in Melbourne.
