Ranchi: Beneficiaries of Jharkhand's flagship scheme 'Maiyan Samman Yojana' will start getting enhanced financial assistance of Rs 2,500 from December 28. An official gave this information on Monday. The funds will be transferred to the accounts of the beneficiaries during an event in Namkum, Ranchi, which is expected to be attended by thousands of women from across the state.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren reviewed the preparations for the program and directed the officials to ensure smooth implementation. Under the scheme, which was launched in August, women aged 18-50 years were initially given Rs 1,000, benefiting around 55 lakh women. Fulfilling the promise made during the elections, the state government had promised to increase this amount to Rs 2,500 in December.

Government made these criteria before giving Rs 2500

The state government has made a criterion before giving the amount of Rs 2500 in the account of women. Now the state government has issued strict guidelines for the women taking advantage of the Mainiyan Samman Yojana given to women. The Director of the Social Security Department has sent a letter to the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts on December 3, directing them to identify such beneficiaries and exclude them from the scheme.

These women will not get the benefit of this scheme

According to the letter issued, women whose husbands are working in any kind of government or government-aided institution on honorarium or even on tender basis will be deprived of the benefits. Such women will not be able to avail the benefits of Mainiya Samman Yojana. Along with this, women whose husband's EPFO ​​is deducted will also not be able to avail the benefits of this scheme.
