Travis Head to miss the fourth test? Reports make a huge claim

In the current edition of the same Trophy, Travis Head has emerged as a nemesis to India. He scored two tons consecutively in the Test series and is presently leading the field with an impressive score of 409 runs. But there seems to be doubt regarding his participation in the Boxing Day Tests, commencing from Thursday at Melbourne.

Sydney Morning Herald reports, head, who has been nursing a quad issue, was absent from Australia’s training on Monday. The daily opines this was an optional session as the Aussies will train at full strength on Tuesday where Head will need to prove his fitness.

Not surprisingly, the South Australian batter held aloft a match-winning 140 runs in Adelaide which saw Australia take victory by ten wickets. Once again, he handed Australia an upper hand with another commanding knock of 152 runs at the Gabba.

It was at the Gabba that he seemed to waddle between wickets during Australia’s second innings. He could not take the field on the last day of the third Test, but at the post-match presentation, he said he was just ‘sore’ but would be raring to go at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

While the 19-year old batter Sam Konstas has earned his maiden call-up, Nathan McSweeney has been dumped by the selection panel led by George Bailey for the last two matches of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

“I do have something, but I am not telling what it is… just trying to put some pressure back on the bowlers,” said Konstas to journalists Monday when asked about how he planned to wrangle Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep.

Jhye Richardson, Beau Webster and Sean Abbott also joined the Australian squad for the last two Tests down under India.
