Mobile recharge will become cheaper after TRAI's order; Companies will make big changes!

Mobile recharge will be cheaper: The country's private telecom companies had made their tariffs expensive in July this year, after which these companies had to face the anger of the users. Also, crores of users have migrated to BSNL for cheaper plans. Meanwhile, India's telecom regulator TRAI has amended the tariff rules. Due to which some plans are expected to be cheaper.

Actually, TRAI, while amending the tariff rules, has ordered mobile service providers to offer recharge plans only for voice calls and SMS, in which there is no obligation to purchase internet data. The purpose of the new rules is to provide better options to those users who do not use mobile data. Additionally, the validity of the special recharge coupon has been increased from the current limit of 90 days to a maximum of 365 days.

Removing the obligation to purchase internet data will benefit those users who are still using 2G network or those who are using two SIMs. After this decision, users will pay only for those services which they are using. In such a situation, the price of the plan without internet data is likely to be less. Let us tell you that about 150 million users in India are still dependent on feature phones.

“The service provider shall offer at least one special tariff voucher exclusively for voice and SMS, the validity period of which shall not exceed three hundred and sixty-five days,” TRAI said in the Telecom Consumer Protection (12th Amendment) Regulations, 2024. “
