After the Brisbane Test, after his retirement from international cricket, Prithi wrote on his Instagram post – 'These two days have been a blur for me. Now I have got some time to think. I am thinking about what I can say about what I am writing… will I write it as a farewell to my favorite cricketer of all time or maybe it will have a partner's perspective? Or maybe a love letter from a fan girl? I think it's all there.'
He further wrote- 'When I saw Ashwin's press conference, I thought about those small and big moments which are many memories of the last 13-14 years. Big wins, Man of the Series awards, the silence in our room after a hard-fought day's play, some evenings when the sound of the shower lasted a little too long, the scratch of a pencil as he wrote his thoughts on paper, when Streaming of footage video when he is making a game plan, meditation before leaving for every game, playing some songs on repeat when he rests.

They welcomed their daughters Akhira and Aadhya in 2015 and 2016 respectively and started a family.
Talking about Preethi herself, she is not only known as Ashwin's wife, just like him, she is a B.Tech graduate and a trained classical dancer. Born on 26 May 1988 in a South Indian middle class family. However, after marriage, Ashwin's career developed along with him, but this is not a story of going to the stadium or going to parties just to watch the match. She works out in the gym for her fitness. Before this he has also participated in marathon.
