Shubman should learn from Travis Head, Gill got suggestion to improve his poor form

Delhi: Regarding Shubman Gill, Dinesh Karthik has raised questions on his batting technique. Gill, who could not play in the first Test due to a thumb injury, could not perform well even after making his place in the second and third Tests. He has scored a total of 60 runs in three innings. Karthik says that Gill is having difficulty understanding the difference between batting on Indian and foreign pitches.

Technical problem in Gill's game

Dinesh Karthik said that there is a technical problem in the way Shubman Gill plays. Karthik told that after Gaba Test 2021, Gill's average has remained only 22.31. He said on Cricbuzz, “Gill is making the mistake of pushing the ball hard. It comes from the white ball game. Travis Head also had the same problem, but he solved it in his own way. Batsmen like Gill get confused when it comes to playing on Indian and foreign pitches.”

The former wicketkeeper also suggested that Gill should bowl balls outside the off stump, especially in Australia. “As soon as Gill sees the ball coming out of the bowler's hand, he feels that the ball is full, and he tries to push hard on it. Batsmen who have been successful in Australia, England and South Africa tell that the ball should be played with soft hands or it should be left. Gill is playing here just like he plays in India. “Playing on the front foot in places like Brisbane is a bit risky, and it is better to leave the balls there.”
