Becomes empty after 5 pm
Kuldhara village was settled on the banks of Saraswati river by the Paliwal Brahmin community in 1300 years. But two hundred years ago, suddenly one night this village became deserted. The village which used to be bustling with activity earlier, became deserted in a single night. This village is situated fourteen kilometers away from Jaisalmer. According to the people nearby, there was a tyrant in the village, Salim Singh. He had liked the daughter of the village head. To save his daughter from the tyrant, Pradhan left the village along with the entire village in a single night. Since then the village remained deserted.

It has become a tourist spot
There are many beautiful houses in Kuldhara even today. There are temples. It seems that people still live inside these houses. But now this haunted village has been converted into a tourist spot. People come here to visit during the day. But after five in the evening all the tourists are thrown out. Tourists are allowed to come here from 8 to 6 in the morning. To come here people have to buy a ticket of ten rupees. If you are going inside by car then this fee becomes fifty rupees.
