Amit Shah became active after holding review meeting! Told the CM of Uttarakhand to take action soon and implement these new criminal laws

New Delhi : Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday (December 24) chaired a review meeting on the implementation of three new criminal laws in Uttarakhand and urged Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to ensure their full implementation at the earliest.

Highlighting that the new laws are victim- and citizen-centric and should be implemented in the same spirit, Amit Shah directed the Uttarakhand Chief Minister to review the progress of implementation of the laws every 15 days. Gave. Additionally, he advised the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police (DGP) to hold a weekly review with officials of all concerned departments.

Home Minister Shah also directed the DGP to ensure thorough investigation by all Superintendents of Police. The Home Minister stressed that the Uttarakhand government should remove technical and other shortcomings to achieve 100 per cent implementation of the new laws. He stressed on giving priority to full enforcement of laws in police stations and jails, especially in areas where the number of FIRs is high.

What did the Home Minister say about the importance of technology?

Underscoring the importance of technology, Shah said each district should have more than one forensic mobile van. “Teams for forensic operations should be classified as serious, moderate and less urgent, so that resources can be better utilized,” Shah was quoted as saying in the Home Ministry statement. A protocol should also be established to designate locations for video conferencing, ensuring that the cameras installed at all sites are of excellent quality.”

There will be regular and continuous monitoring of zero FIR.

Shah called for regular and continuous monitoring of zero FIRs, including tracking how many have been resolved and how many have been transferred to other states. The meeting reviewed the current status and implementation of various new provisions related to policing, prisons, courts, prosecution and forensics in Uttarakhand.

The meeting was attended by the Union Home Secretary, Chief Secretary, DGP of Uttarakhand, Director General of Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), Director General of National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) and several senior officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Government of Uttarakhand.
