All political parties are busy in preparations for the Delhi Assembly elections. Meanwhile, a meeting of Delhi Congress Manifesto Committee has been called on Monday. If reports are to be believed, election related issues will be discussed in this meeting and what promises should be made to the people of Delhi regarding the upcoming elections. Opinion regarding this will be taken from the leaders present in the meeting. After this, the manifesto will be prepared and will be released after getting approval from the high command.

According to media reports, on the lines of Aam Aadmi Party, the issue of free speech can be seen in the manifesto of Congress also. It is being said that Congress can make 5 to 6 big promises in its manifesto, in which the focus will also be on women and the elderly. These promises may include health insurance of Rs 25 lakh for the people of Delhi, Rs 3,000 per month to women and up to 300 units of free electricity, among others. If sources are to be believed, Congress will also release its manifesto for Delhi elections in the coming two to three days. However, no statement has come from Congress on this yet.

Congress has fielded its candidates on 21 out of 70 assembly seats.

Let us tell you that for the Delhi Assembly elections, Congress has fielded its candidates on 21 out of 70 assembly seats. Whereas, candidates are yet to be announced for 49 assembly seats. It is expected that Congress will soon release its second list and announce candidates for more than 20 seats. Congress has fielded Sandeep Dixit against former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. Sandeep is the son of three-time Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit. He will contest from New Delhi Assembly seat.
