New Delhi:- The online website of IRCTC, the e-ticketing service of Indian Railways, has once again crashed on Thursday, December 26. Due to which lakhs of passengers across the country are getting troubled. There have been technical problems on the railway website and mobile app, due to which passengers are not able to use Tatkal ticket booking, train information, and other online services. Downdetector, a site that tracks online disruptions, has also confirmed the outage. IRCTC has not yet responded to this major outage.
On opening the IRCTC app, users are seeing an error message, which reads, 'Unable to perform the action due to maintenance activity.' Users are giving different types of reactions on social media regarding this outage.
Downdetector confirmed the outage
Downdetector has also confirmed about the halted service of IRCTC. Now more than 2 thousand users have complained about IRCTC down on the DownDetector site. According to DownDetector, users faced this outage from around 9:58 to 10:30. Due to this, passengers faced problems in 59% websites, 28% apps and 13% ticket booking.
Passengers upset, complaints on social media
Complaining on the outage, a person tweeted: “@RailMinIndia @AshwiniVaishnaw @PMOIndia How long will this fraud continue, always at 10am IRCTC website crashes and when reopened, all tatkal tickets are booked. But only premium tickets are available which are sold at double the price, this is a clear fraud by @IRCTCofficial @raghav_chadha.
Another person wrote on By the time it opens, all the tickets will have been sold.
A third person said, “India reached the moon, but Indian Railways' ticket booking app Tatkal is not able to handle booking without crashing. It's 2024, and having a stable server shouldn't be rocket science!
Second major outage of this month
This was the second major outage of IRCTC this month. On December 9, this platform underwent maintenance for 2 hours. At the same time, even today passengers are facing outage, due to which there is a lot of anger among the passengers. Tatkal tickets can be booked only a day before the departure of the train, with booking for AC classes starting at 10 am and for non-AC classes, it starts at 11 am. But due to this outage, users are not able to book tickets.
Passengers are now questioning the quality of service of IRCTC and are hoping that IRCTC will solve this problem soon.
