Tirupati Stampede: A stampede incident occurred on Wednesday night at Lord Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh. Six devotees died in this stampede, while many people were injured. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) chief has given information about this. At the same time, why was there a stampede in the temple? The reason behind this is said to be hundreds of people scrambling for tickets for Vaikuntha Dwar Darshanam.

In fact, two days before the start of Vaikuntha Ekadashi festival in Tirupati, a stampede broke out as a crowd of devotees gathered for Vaikuntha Dwar Darshan token. Arrangements have been made to issue SSD tokens from 5 am on Thursday. More than 90 ticket counters were set up to provide tickets or tokens. But, a day earlier on Wednesday evening itself, a crowd of devotees had gathered at the counters for tokens. After which a stampede broke out and six people died.
An eyewitness woman said that a stampede broke out due to the huge crowd. As soon as the police officials opened the gate, pilgrims rushed to buy tokens. Earlier there was no such system for getting tokens. Six of the twenty members of his family were injured in the stampede. PM Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu expressed grief over the incident. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has urged Congress workers to provide all possible assistance to the victims of the stampede.
