But the surprising thing is that everyone in my family used to go to watch his films. Gradually everyone started wishing Shahrukh's success. But I was always against it.

By then, Shahrukh Khan had been in the industry for nine years. Initially many of his films flopped. Therefore his entire focus was on this. Shahrukh was never satisfied with just acting. He also wanted to be involved in the technical aspects of films. But the biggest thing was that I was having a lot of difficulty in adjusting in Mumbai. But cinema was everything for Shahrukh. He had said that he will wait for a few days, if he does not settle in Mumbai then he will go back to Delhi. This was the only reason why I used to pray to God that his films flop. I thought that if this happened, he would come back to Delhi.

“I used to pray to God again and again that all his films should flop. I was facing problems in Mumbai, I wanted to go back to Delhi. During that time his Deewana and Baazigar became blockbusters.
