India Drops 5 Spots in Global Passport Power Ranking; Singapore Tops the List | Read

In the latest Henley Passport Index, India has experienced a significant drop, falling five places to rank 85th among the world’s most powerful passports. This decline means that Indian passport holders can now travel visa-free to 57 destinations, sharing the rank with Equatorial Guinea and Niger.

Singapore has once again claimed the top spot, with its passport offering visa-free access to 195 destinations worldwide.

This achievement underscores Singapore’s continued dominance in global mobility. Japan follows closely in second place, providing visa-free access to 193 countries.

The Henley Passport Index ranks passports based on the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa. The index is a reflection of each country’s diplomatic relations and the freedom of movement its citizens enjoy.

Other notable rankings include the United Arab Emirates, which has climbed into the top ten, securing the 10th position with visa-free access to 185 destinations. Meanwhile, the United States has seen a decline, dropping to the ninth position with access to 186 destinations.

The fall in India’s ranking highlights the challenges faced by Indian travelers in terms of global mobility. As countries continue to negotiate visa agreements, the power of a passport remains a crucial factor in international travel and diplomacy.
