This vegetable is so delicious that just hearing its name makes the mouth water. Its taste is liked very much by children as well as adults. This vegetable is also considered beneficial for health, because black gram is considered a very good source of protein. Therefore, it must be included in your diet in some form or the other. You can make black gram potato curry with very few ingredients and easily. Let us know the method of making black gram and potato curry-

Ingredients for making black gram-potato curry

Gram – 250 grams
Potatoes – 4 big sizes
Onion – 4 big size
Ginger – 1 inch piece
Garlic – 8-10 cloves
Chopped coriander – 2-3 teaspoons
Green chillies – 2-3
Tomato – 4-5
Turmeric powder – 1 teaspoon
Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder – 2 teaspoons
Kashmiri red chilli powder – 2 teaspoons
Ghee – 2 tbsp
Cumin – 1 teaspoon
Mace- 1
Cloves – 2-3
Gram masala – 1 teaspoon
Mustard oil – as required
Salt – as per taste

To make this delicious vegetable, first soak black gram for about 6-7 hours. By doing this the gram will swell. After the gram swells, we will prepare to boil both the potatoes and gram by placing them in the cooker with water. However, before boiling these two, we will also add mace and cloves. After this, close the lid and cook on medium flame till 3 to 4 whistles. After this, turn off the gas and take out both the things in separate vessels.

After this, peel the potatoes and cut them into small pieces in a vessel. Now peel two onions and cut them into small pieces. -Grind onion, tomato, ginger and garlic together and make a paste. – Now we will take a big vessel, in which we will add gram, chopped potato, chopped onion, garlic, ginger paste. Also add all the spices. Now mix this mixture well and cover it with a plate and leave it for some time.

– Now place a cooker on gas. When the cooker is hot, add oil into it. When the oil is hot, add cumin seeds and cook. – After this add crushed onion in it. When it is roasted, magnetized gram and potatoes will also be added to it. Then add about half a glass of water in it and mix everything well. Now cover the cooker with a lid and let it cook for 10 minutes. However, remove the lid from time to time and keep checking. When the onion melts completely, we will also add Kasuri Methi to it. Now add water to it and take one to two whistles. Keep in mind that you have to add as much water as you want to keep the gravy. Now close the lid of the pressure cooker and give one to two whistles. After this turn off the gas. When the cooker cools down, garnish it with green coriander. Now this delicious vegetable can also be served with puri, paratha or plain roti.
