Lucknow HMPV Virus: Woman found HMPV positive in Lucknow, patient referred from KGMU to Balrampur Hospital.
Lucknow. Despite the strictness and activeness shown by the UP Health Department regarding HMPV, the first case of HMPV virus was found in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. A 60-year-old woman from Lucknow has been found positive with HMPV virus. According to the information received, the positive report of the woman from HMPV is from Charak Hospital, Lucknow. The woman had fever and was short of breath, after which she was first shown to KGMU in Lucknow, from where the doctors referred the woman to Balrampur Hospital after primary treatment.

According to the information received, Usha Sharma, a 60-year-old woman resident of Rajendranagar, Lucknow, was having trouble breathing along with fever and cough. The woman showed herself to Charak Hospital in Lucknow, from where the doctors of the private hospital declared the woman positive for HMPV and sent her to KGMU and then the woman was referred to Balrampur Hospital. The woman has been admitted to Balrampur Hospital.
CMS said – Report of private hospital is not valid, samples sent for re-examination
On this matter, Dr. Sanjay Tewatia, Chief Medical Superintendent of Balrampur Hospital, Lucknow, said that the report of private hospital is not valid in government hospitals. The woman has been admitted to the hospital on priority and her samples have been taken and sent to KGMU for re-examination. The report will come after 48 hours, which will decide whether he is infected with HMPV or not.
