Premier League: Amad Diallo signs long-term contract with Manchester United
New Delhi: Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has penned a new five-and-a-half-year contract, ensuring his stay at Old Trafford until June 2030. The 22-year-old, whose previous deal was set to expire this summer, has emerged as a crucial part of the club’s plans.
Diallo joined United from Atalanta in 2021 but initially struggled for opportunities. Loans to Rangers and Sunderland gave him valuable experience, with the latter proving transformative as he netted 14 goals in 42 appearances. This season, Diallo has stepped up as a key player, delivering standout moments like a stoppage-time winner against Manchester City and a crucial equaliser at Liverpool.
The winger described his journey as rewarding, expressing excitement for what lies ahead. He emphasised his commitment to helping United achieve success and making fans proud with his performances.

Manchester United’s technical director, Jason Wilcox, highlighted Diallo’s progress, praising his versatility and determination. Wilcox said the winger is set to play a pivotal role in the club’s future, with his best years still ahead.
Despite enduring a knee injury last year that kept him out for five months, Diallo quickly made his mark upon returning. His FA Cup quarter-final winner against Liverpool was one of many moments that showcased his ability to shine under pressure.
United’s decision to offer fresh terms, rather than activating a one-year extension in his previous deal, reflects their belief in Diallo’s potential. With nine goals in 50 appearances for the club so far, the Ivorian winger is expected to contribute even more in the years to come.
As Diallo continues to grow under Ruben Amorim’s management, United fans will hope to see him fulfil the immense promise he has shown this season.
