Smriti Mandhana supported the explosive opener of Indian women's team, will soon return to the team
Sports Desk: The three-match ODI series between the Indian women's team and the Ireland women's team will be played from January 10. Before this match, Indian team captain Smriti Mandhana has supported Shefali Verma who was dropped from the team due to poor form. He said that Shefali Verma is definitely in the team's plans.
In the absence of regular captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Mandhana has been given the responsibility of captaincy for this series. Harmanpreet Kaur has been rested for this series. Along with him, Renuka Singh Thakur has also been given rest. Shefali, who was known for her explosive batting, was dropped from the team for the ODI series against Australia in December.
Mandhana said before the match against Ireland that Harmanpreet has been rested. Shafali is not a part of the team in the last two or three ODI series. Pratika Rawal has performed well in his absence. Shefali has scored a lot of runs in domestic cricket during this period and she is definitely included in the plans of the national team. I am happy that he scored a lot of runs in domestic cricket.

Mandhana expressed hope from the team to perform well with the resources available with it. He said that we do not need to think about what we do not have as a team. The Indian team had to face defeat on the Australia tour but the team won 2-1 in the T20 International series and 3-0 in the ODI series against West Indies on home soil. The strong performance against West Indies has boosted the morale of the team. Mandhana said that the series against West Indies definitely boosted our confidence. Our batsmen and bowlers had performed brilliantly. Hopefully we can continue that momentum.
