Pushpa 2 sets new box office records despite controversies
Allu Arjun’s blockbuster Pushpa 2: The Rule continues to reign at the box office, amassing a staggering $1.45 billion in India, even as its daily earnings show a slight decline.
According to Sacnilk.com, the film collected $260,000 on its 34th day, showcasing its enduring appeal among audiences.
The release of the “reloaded version” of Pushpa 2, which includes an additional 20 minutes of footage, has been postponed to January 17 due to technical issues. Initially set to premiere on January 11, the extended cut, with a runtime of 3 hours and 40 minutes, will make Pushpa 2 the longest Indian movie in history.
Directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Muttamsetty Media, the film has dethroned Baahubali 2: The Conclusion to become India's highest-grossing movie. Featuring Allu Arjun as Pushpa Raj, Rashmika Mandanna as Srivalli, and Fahadh Faasil as Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, the film continues to captivate audiences with its gripping storyline and stellar performances.
The film’s success has not been without challenges. A tragic stampede at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre on December 4 led to legal cases against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management. The actor, who was taken into custody on December 13, secured bail from the Telangana High Court the following day, with regular bail granted on January 3.
Despite these setbacks, Pushpa 2: The Rule remains unstoppable, drawing crowds eager to witness Allu Arjun’s mesmerizing performance and the film’s compelling narrative.
