The New York Court judge had announced the sentencing in this case on January 10. Trump appealed to the Supreme Court to stop this punishment, but the Supreme Court also did not listen to him and rejected the appeal. Now Trump will have to face punishment in this case.

However, the Supreme Court rejected Trump's appeal in this case. Trump had argued that he had the right to automatically impose a stay on sentencing. But, the judge rejected this appeal with a 5-4 decision. Now this matter has become a big legal challenge for Trump.
Trump guilty in 34 cases
Judge Marchen had convicted America's newly elected President Trump on 34 counts in May. One of these cases is related to the 2016 presidential election, in which it is alleged that Trump had paid adult star Stormy Daniels so that she would not reveal his claim of having sexual relations with her. According to the information, Trump has been accused of giving 1 lakh 30 thousand dollars to adult star Stormy Daniels.

However, regarding this matter, Trump says that Daniels' claim is false and he has not done anything wrong. The judge in the case has said that he will not give jail, fine or parole to Trump.
Trump's sentencing date fixed
Judge Juan Merchan has scheduled Trump's sentencing for January 10. However, the judge has already indicated that Trump will not be sent to jail nor will any fine or probation be imposed on him.
Lawyers' side in Supreme Court
Trump's lawyers had presented an emergency motion in the court on January 8, in which they had said that it would be unfair to impose a criminal punishment on Trump before becoming President and it would interfere in the functioning of the government. Along with this, he had demanded that there should be a delay in announcing Trump's punishment.
Meanwhile, Trump's lawyer, D. John Sawyer, also gave his plea in a separate criminal case. In this case, he is accused of trying to change the results of the 2020 elections.
