Bangladesh's experienced Tamim Iqbal said goodbye to his international cricket career.

Mumbai Mumbai. Bangladesh's experienced cricketer Tamim Iqbal has officially announced his retirement from international cricket. This is the second time the cricketer has announced his resignation from the post. The last time he did this was in July 2023 during an emotional press conference. But due to the intervention of the then Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, he changed his mind after 24 hours.

In a long post on social media, Tamim Iqbal announced his retirement from international cricket. The experienced player revealed that captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto had urged him to return to the team. He has also discussed this situation with the BCB selection committee. Iqbal also said that he is grateful to them for considering him for the upcoming ICC tournament Champions Trophy 2025.

Further in the post, the veteran Bangladesh player gave some details about his exit from the central contract. Tamim Iqbal said that he did this to keep himself out of consideration for the national team. He said that it was unnecessary for BCB to wait for his reply.
