Mahakumbh 2025: Indian Railways has made extensive preparations for the convenience of passengers for the Mahakumbh 2025 to be held in Prayagraj. Railways is going to operate more than 10,000 trains during this historic event, which will include 3,300 special trains. This Mahakumbh will run from 13 January 2025 to 26 February 2025, in which crores of devotees are expected to participate in the Sangam bath and religious rituals.

Operating more than 10,000 trains

Indian Railways has planned to operate more than 10,000 trains for Mahakumbh. Of these, there will be 3,300 special trains, which will be run for special occasions and major bathing days. In view of the increasing number of pilgrims, operation of additional trains has been ensured.

Special arrangements for passenger facilities

Colour-coded waiting and holding areas have been created at railway stations for the convenience of passengers. Apart from this, announcements have been made in more than 12 languages, so that every passenger can get the necessary information in his own language. A special information book has also been prepared in 22 languages, in which complete information about travel guide, health services and safety protocols is given. Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) will be deployed to ensure safe and orderly transportation of passengers to their trains.

Health and emergency services

During Mahakumbh, Railways has set up medical booths and small hospitals at major stations. Trained medical experts will be available 24×7. An emergency plan has also been prepared with ambulances and local hospitals for immediate help in emergency situations.
