Indian senior pacer shares views on Jasprit Bumrah’s injury

India’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah recently achieved his career-best rating of 908 points, and reached the top position in Test cricket. However, this achievement came after India suffered a 3-1 series loss to Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT). Apart from this, Bumrah’s back injury has left the Indian fans wondering about his future, since there is not much time left the the upcoming edition of Jasprit Bumrah.
Former Indian pacer Vikram Vir Singh praised Bumrah for the manner in which he had made a comeback after the injury, but also shared his concern over the latest injury, stating that his bowling will be much-needed in the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025.
“The way Jasprit Bumrah has made a comeback after injury layoff, it’s commendable. Infact, he has become better than before. But the way he got injured in Sydney Test, it leaves everyone suspecting whether it’s just back spasm or something more than that,” said Vir Singh.
“Bumrah uses his full body to deliver the ball due to which his body has to endure a whole lot of stress. He is a run-up bowler. But the way he lands his front foot while bowling, the pressure comes fully on his body. So the nature of injury needs to be known because Jasprit Bumrah’s presence will be very crucial for Team India in the Champions Trophy 2025,” he added.
There is no official update on Bumrah’s injury, but according to a previous report, the star pacer is likely going to consult BCCI medical team, along with his personal doctor who did his surgery in New Zealand. The back spasms that Bumrah suffered have left everyone concerned.
