Roasted Strawberries and Cream Oatmeal Recipe
Life Style Life Style : 360 grams strawberries, large strawberries cut in half
1½ tbsp caster sugar
200 grams oats
1.2 liter semi-skimmed milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
4 tbsp single cream Preheat your oven on Gas 6, 200°C, Fan 180°C.
Arrange the strawberries in a single layer in the roasting tin and scatter over the sugar and 2 tablespoons water. Roll the strawberries in the tin until well coated. Cook for 20 minutes until the strawberries are soft but still hold their shape.
Meanwhile, place the porridge oats in a large saucepan and add the milk and vanilla extract. Bring to a boil and simmer for 4-5 minutes until it becomes thick and creamy. Stir occasionally, taking care that it does not stick to the bottom of the pan.
To serve, divide the porridge among 4 bowls, add a tablespoon of cream to each bowl and top with some roasted strawberries and a drizzle of syrup. Serve immediately.
