Tirumathi Meena Subrahmanyan is the president of PRAYAS TRUST, a non-profit organisation which aims on social welfare.

L&T Chairman and Managing Director SN Subrahmanyan sparked a debate with his remarks, in which he expressed regret that he could not make his employees work on Sundays. The debate was further fueled by Subrahmanyan’s other remark, suggesting that people in India should work 90 hours a week. Netizens first criticized the L&T chairman for his comments and then directed their anger toward his wife, Meena Subrahmanyan.

This happened after the conglomerate’s chairman made controversial remarks, in which he sarcastically questioned how long his employees would continue to look at their wives while at home on Sundays. Following his comment, many have now brought his Meena Subrahmanyan into the conversation.

“All this can be solved if we inform Mrs Meena Subrahmanyan that Mr Subrahmanyan doesn’t want to look at her anymore,” an X user said.

Tirumathi Meena Subrahmanyan is the president of PRAYAS TRUST, a non-profit organisation which aims on  social welfare. It receives both nurturing and financial support from L&T’s management. The trust was established in 1996.

Meena Subrahmanyan is also a member of the Biotechnology Industrial Advisory Board at Northeastern University and serves as the Vice Chair of the Biotech section of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists.
