Big update before ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Indian team announcement date extended
New Delhi: The excitement about Champions Trophy 2025 is increasing day by day. Why not, ICC has brought this tournament back after 8 years. Meanwhile, there was a report that the Indian team could be announced by January 12, but now according to the media it has come to light that there is a possibility of delay in the announcement of the team. The selection committee can ask for some more time from the ICC to announce the team as per the rules. The announcement of the T20 team against England is possible in the next few days.
Know the new date
Whenever there is a global or multi-nation tournament, as per the rules the teams have to announce their team about a month before it. However, some changes can be made in it later. But this time ICC had issued the order to declare the team 5 weeks in advance. There is every possibility that the same players will play in the Champions Trophy 2025, who will be given a chance in the three-match ODI series against England. Earlier the date of announcement of the team was said to be 12th January. But now according to the media it has been said that the announcement of Team India is possible after about a week on 18th or 19th January. Champions Trophy will start from 19th February in Pakistan-UAE. The Indian team will play all its matches in UAE.
For T20 series…
Apart from this, it has also been learned that there will not be much changes in the team for the T20 series against England. Most of the players in the T20 series will be the same who played in the series against Bangladesh and South Africa. The good news for the Indian team before the Champions Trophy 2025 is that Mohammed Shami has got or will soon get a clean chit on fitness from the BCCI Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. In such a situation, Shami can be seen playing not only in the Champions Trophy but also in the ODI series against England. Also read…
