VHT 2024-25: Maharashtra and Karnataka teams reach semi-finals of Vijay Hazare Trophy; Know- who will compete

Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25: The two semi-finalist teams of the current season of Vijay Hazare Trophy have been confirmed. Which includes the team of Maharashtra led by Ruturaj Gaikwad and Karnataka led by Mayank Agarwal. In fact, in the third quarter-final of the domestic cricket tournament, Maharashtra has defeated the Punjab team, while in the fourth quarter-final, Karnataka has won against Baroda.

In the third quarter-final played at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara, Maharashtra team, which came to bat first after losing the toss, scored a score of 275 runs losing 6 wickets in 50 overs in return of Arshin Kulkarni's century inning of 107 runs. Arshdeep Singh took 3 wickets for Punjab. Whereas, while chasing the target of 276 runs in the second innings, Punjab team collapsed on the score of 205 in 44.4 overs. In this way Maharashtra won the match by 70 runs. Arshdeep scored the highest 49 runs for Punjab. Mukesh Chaudhary took three wickets for Maharashtra.

On the other hand, in the fourth quarter-final played at Moti Bagh Stadium in Vadodara, Baroda team won the toss and decided to bowl first. After which Karnataka team came to bat and scored 281 runs at the loss of 8 wickets after playing 50 overs in return of Devdutt Padikkal's century inning of 102 runs. In this innings, Raj Limbani and A Sheth took 3-3 wickets for Baroda. After this, in the second innings, Baroda team was all out for 276 runs in 49.5 overs and Karnataka won the match by 5 runs. Shashwat Rawat played an inning of 104 runs for Baroda.

Let us tell you that the first quarter final of Vijay Hazare Trophy will be played tomorrow on 12th January between Gujarat and Haryana. The winning team in this match will face Karnataka in the semi-finals on January 15. Whereas, the second quarter final will be played between Vidarbha and Rajasthan on January 12. Where the winning team will face the Maharashtra team on 16 January.
